Hi Paul

I did indeed end up going for the same EBC's disc however ended up with mintex pads as they were on offer, the only track I've taken them on so far has been Silverstone but they were brilliant, im more annoyed at myself for taking so long to actaully have the work carried out. However its now made me think hmmmmm what do I change next the list is very long and my overdraft very small

Default Second Thoughts

Just in case anyone is following this thread with a view to going down this route, I am having second thoughts.
I had a re-occurence of brake juddering at Brands Hatch and took the pads out to have a look. The pad material is breaking up and my technical guru reckons they can't cope (something to do with the excess ballast behind the steering wheel?)- and certainly they need replacing. He is sourcing an alternative, hopefully by Castle Combe. I have enough problems at Avon Rise/Quarry Corner without dodgy brakes adding to the mix!
Perhaps my ringing endorsement of GreenStuff was a little premature.
Rgds,
Paul

Interesting Paul

What size disks do you have on the front.

As I said in my last post ( 13/5/2010 ) GREEN are not good enough if you want to drive in anger ..

So I have tried REDS on the FRONT and GREEN on the rear ....
Seem to stop me OK but I am now working my way to YELLOW pads ..

Nothing wrong with REDS and the JUDDERING could be the ABS ( Anti lock brake ) system working ...I have had the same feeling when I try too hard and brake too late
You should get 4/5 track days and 5k miles from a set of Reds ...IMOP..

But I will check my pads after every 4 Trackdays and couple of thousand miles as I just lost half a trackday due to the rears wearing out when not expected to ...
Bests Gary ...

Hmmm,
Interesting, I use O/E discs and pads, as Gary will testify I am a late breaker, I don't have any trouble with warping or fade.

The reason I use O/E, I have a friend who runs ZR rally cars still, all ex-works cars, did a lot of the works development testing, he has and still does use noting but O/E brakes. Why because as he says, "they've been tested to death and I'm not going to use something that doesn't work when giving people the rally experience"

Works for him and me, just my 2d's worth.

Default Definitely not ABS

The juddering is not the ABS cutting in. I was getting that at the Deene hairpin at Rockingham when the inside rear wheel lifted. Entirely different feeling.
I am going to bring the old GreenStuff pads to Combe tomorrow if anyone is interested. They are absolutely f****d. I am now running Mintex F series on the front (I think - will confirm tomorrow) and so far they look promising. Tower will tell!
See all y'all tomorrow.
Rgds,
Paul

I believe I too have had the same juddering you have written about, and have no idea whay it happens it first occured at Cadwell Park last year with alot of heavy braking since changing to the mintex pads it has made a difference but does still happen albiet much later in the day. Has anybody else had these experiences, I put it down to over heating?

I have this on mine since fitting grooved discs that after 3-4 laps with heavy braking there is a vibration down the pedal but i thought it was the a mixture of abs and grooved discs?
